I am so excited for this school year! This is my 16th year with Piedmont. My passion is teaching and building relationships with my students. I will teach  and treat your child, as if they were one of my own. I am married and have two awesome sons. Our cat, Marley, has the best job in the house 🙂

5th Grade Expectations:

1. Adhere to the student code of conduct.
2. Be on time and enter the classroom quietly.
3. Be prepared for class with all supplies and homework completed. Pencil pouch with required materials, “Your Turn” workbook and notebooks.
4. Laptops should be charged at home.

6. Remain on the computer sites that have been given as part of the instructions.
7. No candy, food, gum or drink (only water) is allowed in the classroom at any time except for your lunch period.

Dear Parents and Students,

Beginning Monday, September 19, 2022 student’s should be familiar with how to navigate through Google Classroom and how to check their PowerSchool/Gradebook. If not, please reach out to your homeroom teacher. It is the student’s responsibility to keep track of their assignments and missing work. All assignments are due on the day they are assigned. If you are unsure of the due date, it is listed with the assignment on Google Classroom or on Powerschool. Students will only have 5 calendar days from the due date to submit assignments that are posted. Each day the assignment is late, ten percent (10%) will be deducted. Example: If Judy submits an assignment 5 days late from the assignment due date and everything is correct, the maximum score she will receive is a 50%. No assignments will be accepted after the 5 calendar day window. The assignments will remain “0’s” in PowerSchool/Gradebook. Teachers will communicate this procedure with students in the classroom. It is vital that your child keeps up on a daily basis and not wait on completing assignments. If your child is sick and has an excused absence, please reach out in order to set up an arrangement. As stated, late/missing assignments will not be accepted per guidelines stated above. If your child needs help with organization or help in setting up a daily assignment calendar, please let us know.
