Our Kindergarten through eighth grades run a curriculum in tandem with Common Core and Essential Standards called Core Knowledge. Essentially, the idea behind Core Knowledge is for students to be equipped with the background knowledge that is essential for them to be successful in high school and in college. Core Knowledge is the curriculum by which teachers deliver standards and skills dictated by Common Core and/or the Essential Standards.
Our teachers along with administrators, as co-coordinators of Core Knowledge for the middle school, have been working diligently to continue to work on the implementation of Core Knowledge at both the elementary and middle school levels.
